The Night I Fell For Chocolate Cake

For Jill Tait’s “Chocolate Cake” Challenge

The Night I Fell For Chocolate Cake

I was a terribly hungry teenager, “The Night I Fell For Chocolate Cake”;
The most scrumptious sweet confection, that a person could ever bake!
She was a dark Eurasian beauty, exotic dancing was her trade;
With four feet of delicious angel hair, a temptation Heaven-made!
.
The moment that I saw her, I hungered to dig in;
She had seven layers of clothes on, as the mix began to spin!
Round and round she gyrated, till every layer had been churned;
Heated up, and ready for consumption, my taste buds blithely burned!
.
She was set down upon my table, and looked so smoking hot;
She asked if I’d like to try a piece, I said, “I’ll take all of them you’ve got”!
She said, “Okay, now slice into me, let me know how I taste”;
I replied, “I’m sure I’ll love you, nary a crumb would I ever waste”!
.
I was just getting ready for my first bite, when I heard my mother say;
“Wake up Larry, get dressed, or you’ll be late for school today”!
I shook out all the cobwebs, for this had only been a dream;
If she’d given me two more minutes, I could have let off a little steam!
.
.
Dear Chocolate Cake
I almost consumed you
Such battered dreams

My Dear Wilford,

This is one of the "sweetest" comments I ever received.  I ate up every word of it.  It was a lot of fun writing humor, trying to bring some laughter in these troubled times.  I thought it would be difficult, but it turned out to be "a piece of cake".
Thank you so much for your fabulous response and pin.

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

My Dear Jill,

When I first read of your challenge, I was contemplating writing on my favorite, German Chocolate Cake.  But after thinking about it, I decided that there was no way I could create at least three quatrains.  Then this thought occurred to me, and I was off and running.  Thank you for your lovely comment and pin!  I look so forward to your next challenge.

All my love,
Larry xxx
