The Poor Old Homeless Man

A poor old homeless man living on the streets
passers keep walking on by no eye contact meets

sat there with no home and holes in his clothes
no shoes on his feet just an empty cup that he holds

theres nothing he ownes as he sits there froze
its cold outside hes surrounded by deep snows

he's looking fragile by the day no food comin his way
box falling to pieces i notice him sit there & pray

he needs help he doesnt wanna sit there & beg
hes just lost hoping one day that he will get fed

i felt for this old man the pain he must be goin through
disorientated an cofused not knowing what too do

so i seeked to help this guy an contacted a shelter
were he can get food an water an hopefully get better

as his health improved he told me a short story
his wife had died he said i never thought id be lonely

it broke his heart he lost everything that he had
fell into debt lost his house this made me feel sad

now this old man is slowly recovering miraculously
his life could of truly ended up being a catasrophy

never again will i see him on the streets in the cold
hes back on his feet now with a story to be told
