The Roads Down Which I Dare Not Walk

The Roads Down Which I Dare Not Walk

I'm a nice person- yeah,
Yet still I have fallings out:
The shop which sold me
Shoes which didn't last.
(I complained)
The awkwardness may well have passed.

The barber's shop I have abandonedĀ
Since I've found somewhere costing less
Do I lack loyalty walking past- embarrassment?
Should I give myself a rest?

The friend working in a charity shop
With whom I had a difference of opinion.
I dare not walk past, or go in:
Perhaps I am a minion.

Today I walked in to a pub.-
One in which I rarely go.
Stupid me, I'd got drunk there before.
"A pint please" "Ahem, no."
"We won't serve you".

So I leave as I am Mr Nice
Who never rubs people up the wrong way.
Who am I kidding?Ā  I'm a pain
Maybe It's every other day
That I do.
