The Scars In Her Head

The Scars In Her Head

She sits there crossed legged on the floor,
He isn't going to hurt me no more,
She sits there in silence in her place,
Tears have been rolling down her face.

She looks around staring out of focus,
Is this place clean she hadn't noticed,
A big weight has finally been released,
Her eyes looking down has it ceased?

Reality kicks in from her daze,
It all seemed surreal, a haze,
She can feel her hands they are shaking,
A guilt washes her over she's not faking.

Laying in front of her is a man,
This wasn't actually part of the plan,
She wondered as she came down from rage,
A bird released feeling from their cage.

Day after day she felt damned,
As she notices the blood on her hand.
Her husband laying there on his back,
The outcome of emotion, an attack.

She let go on the knife sticking out,
She counted fifty stab wounds there abouts,
It's the last day you'll hurt me she thought,
Five years of abuse lesson taught.

Her black eyes will heal over time,
As I come near the end of my rhyme,
And with this wrong doing she is saved,
But the scars in her head will not fade.
