Poem -

Aries

"See you tomorrow night."

Have you ever witnessed a greater sight,

Than commuters drenched in the morning light?

Today I shall fight.

Battle for my place amongst them in the morning light.

I look out of my window,

And I see the river below.

Oh, I must tell you! Oh, how you must know!

Of the beauty in the river below.

The water, it dances and it weaves.

Hiding between the trees.

But I always know that it's there.

The beauty of the river, it never leaves.

I'll see a painting of it later today.

Flat and absolute.

It's funny how it appears that way.

As if it's beauty has gone astray.

I listen to the conversation behind me.

A couple, made of a 'sweetheart' and a 'sweetie'.

We're all going somewhere.

But they've already found where they need to be.

The sky is pretty, but last night it was black.

Oh how impatient I get! Waiting for the colour to come back.

It makes me angry to see it like that.

Full of potential, swallowed by the dark, never fighting back.

I've found my happiness on this 7:30 train.

A warm feeling flooding my brain.

But now, i hear my cue to leave.

I'm empty in a way that I cannot explain.

"Oh sorry, I didn't see you there."

Today will be a good day.

Today will go my way.

If I say it enough, It'll come true.

Today will be a good day.

"Morning Janet"

"Looking good Will, new suit?"

I'm sat at my desk and on the wall it says

"Today will be a good day."

And if it isn't,

I guess I'll have to try again.

Leave today as just a day.

Nothing sad to say about another day.
