The Ups and Downs

When I look at the modern world and see
Little girls wearing make-up to look pretty.
Who told them that they were not enough?
All this negativity can leave you feeling quite rough.

In this world I had to learn
To be stronger and sometimes to let the pain burn
And to go with the flow
As a warrior I go
Being knocked down many times,
But back up I go.
So sick of the sticks and the stones that they throw.

The ups and the downs
Can leave you feeling quite sick
Sometimes life grinds to a holt
Then it speeds up real quick.

Its hard to fall off
But I cannot give up
I'm the lowest of the low
But I'm going to jump.

I cant give it up now
I want those little girls to see
How truly beautiful life can be
And to know that the beauty is a reflection of them
On the inside their sun shines
And they'll always have a friend.
