Poem -

They knew love

They knew love

Without love,

Our humanity,

Will not exist.

Like a tree, we plant our seeds

And we grow, but without water

We won’t be able to survive.

I believe that we were born as one,

But as the Greek gods believed

That our love will be too strong,

Stronger than gravity itself,

And we as humans will stand up against them,

As we arise, together as one.

So they separated us,

Our soul into two bodies.

They made us venerable and weak,

And without each other,

We will not be able to succeed.

Yet also made us believe

That if we would find our way back to each other,

In this madness and chaos,

Love would not be a myth,

Love will exist and conquer all.

So two essential souls were proven

To correlate with a happy existence,

One is love

And the other,

Well…

Coping with life that does not push away love,

These two souls knew love,

Tenderness, appreciation,

Hope, self being, sacrifice,

Passion, danger, adventure…

So as they found their way

Back to each other,

Lived many lives,

Traveled around many world,

Across the deepest seas and promised lands

Through time and space,

He found her, his most precious pearl,

As she found him, seeking her beauty

Through it all, dessert sand and hope.

With no impression what so ever,

Only to love, finding in him the most beautiful jewel

Any woman could ever hope for.

As they collide,

They’re hearts adored,

With golden strings and open minds

They were infinite as the universe

Held their emotions and words,

So sweet…

Yet almost a curse

As the Greek gods believed.

Through the winters tale

The ache and the ashes,

And the darkest of all roads,

They believed

They reached,

For more, every minute

Of what they needed.

A million ounces of hope,

They held onto,

Believing that they would be together

As one,

They reached the brightest light,

They saved falling,

Extending their hands

In the name of love.

They succeeded, they broke the chain,

And what the Greek gods once believed in.

In all the beauty of this earth

And far away kingdoms,

They knew love.

And still this present day,

This is the only thing that matters,

They are still here, together as one!

Stronger  than anyone

That I have ever known.

Hi Ciska,

You have defeated two Greek Gods and will have a happy ending with your, "Helen of Troy".  Your Achilles shielded by her eternal love.  Your heart protected by hers, which envelopes yours, hiding it deep in aortic caverns, your souls invisible, even to the Greek Gods scrutiny.  Already risen to the gates of Nirvana.  Very nice write.

Peace and Love,

xox Larry
