Thoughts LVII

Thoughts LVII

He was drifting out to sea, like a cruise ship with no passengers. He was a boat of charter, out of service, adrift amongst others, yet alone.
He felt like a bird, sitting on his backyard deck, protecting his facade – without a ‘mate’, with no friends but her.
The bird called out; ‘watch out – there’s danger ahead.’
The boat drifted further out to sea, until he woke up and took charge. He moored at the familiar pier.
‘Hello’; she said.
He replied, with surprise, and a fulfilment of a wish he thought would never come true.
And thus began a love affair with no final curtain, no exit stage left, no last act.
