Time To Move On

Time To Move On

I asked my travel agent where he was going this year,
he said: 'I'm not, staying at home and drinking beer;'
I'd been to the far east thirty one times, plenty,
lived in Africa for sixteen years, where did you be?

Married three times, all the toys - had three children,
now you know what to expect when you come again;
better food than most - don't marry a Russian, no advantage,
maybe the vodka is okay but not the black sausage.Β

How's your career? Not everyone wants to be an agent,
travel that is, in heaven trips to the stars in an instant;
too much compulsion, you have to do things, I'd had enough,
you can pretend if you wish, I'll just watch you huff and puff.

It was time to go - we'd done so much, quenched our thirst,
my spouse said; 'Before you go, clean the front room first.'
