Tree to my Soul

The endless roots of faith, happiness, and love, founded by a seed
In the depths of the soil of the earth, mother nature has given life
A tree, has been planted, it is growing, it is the shade upon our head
The beauty of the world, the home for nature, and the dwelling of a landscape
To my soul, I feel its branches, the limbs that reach to the sky, I want to fly
I want to breathe, the budding leaves, the blossoms in bloom, and shoot
To the heavens, and touch the clouds, with every inch of my body, with all my brain
In the lungs of a tree, the aging of a miracle, the memories, the photos in each ring
Of the wood, upon the face of an old and dying soul, it must now be taken down
Though it shall never lose its crown, because it has spread another seed, and now it is free
To live, and to die, it touches every moment in time, and my native blood will flow
Into the ground, with the burial of a spirit, that none can ever know, may it grow
Looking up into the sky, I know its place is forever, and my love reaches out
With my arms, around each branch, I can feel the thunder of the Cherokee chant
And know that this tree, had lived the same life, in past, in wonder, in a golden masterpiece
My tree to my soul, will be with you in the next time, we shall lay in the shade, once again, as the blue jays dance

Nancy, this poem is simply on another level, I must believe that you write this one under total inspiration, I read it really slow, needing to feel every word every movement, honestly if anyone said that it was the most perfect nature poem ever written on here, I would not argue....truly a poem that transports the reader, amazing work
