Trees

Trees

Tall and silent
Dark and defiant
Against the force of nature
And the soulless creatures

That come chopping
A-chopping with their silver hands

Time slow for these silent beasts
Who tower over all living beings with their stance
Hatchlings they grow
Over centuries or millennia

Out springs colour with her palette and brush
To touch up on these gentle giants
And give them a glow, a shine, and a beauty to be admired

Whispers carried across a breeze and underground roots
Connects every one of these
In a special harmony

In a special language spoken only by the Trees
