Books

Books

Of everything and everyone
Of knowledge and good fortune
Foretold to live forever
Passed down by word of mouth

Of ancient writings and modern tellings
Bound by ink and paper

What loss for those faced with fire
Or the murky dwellings of the water

Branches of elaborate stories
Stand high against the whistling winds of time

Crack and crack
And some are lost

Never to be captured again

Histories and Geographies
Non fiction and sci-fi

Collections on collections
Of thousands of writ words

Stored and slotted
In a single book
