I have to satisfy my wife with what's wanted,
but everything's getting better so it's been said,
my boss was expecting the usual miracles from me,
promised a xmas bonus if I Iied successfully.

My relatives think that I'm a great writing star,
wouldn't enjoy me describing friends below par,
colleagues expect me to describe them with another word,
associates and running mates starts to sound absurd.

Poetry critics give me rockets, smiley faces and love signs,
which is fortunate after some of my dodgy lines,
I watch others overtake me with incredulity,
how could they not favour my wonderful mystery.

No matter, I take all of these things in my stride,
I can't go wrong with Tony Taylor as my spiritual guide.
