TWENTY FOUR HOUR SILENCE

She made a pledge just the other day
Twenty four hours and nothing could she say
Doing it for a good cause I have to confess
To help the doctors and nurses at the NHS

Now my wife she likes a good chat and natter
Twenty four hours would be mind over matter
At breakfast time there was silence and still
No words from her mouth did she shrill

Dinner time and lunch time it was the same
If I'm honest I was rather enjoying this silent game
Twenty four hours and nothing came from her lip
Well done to the wife for let nothing slip
