A TWIST OF FATE.....IS NEVER TOO LATE.....
A quiver of arrows
Lay close...by her side
Unsheathed...
Unbloodied...
Yet before her
He died.
In her arms
Rest a crossbow
Made from fine
Polished oak
Untainted...
Untarnished...
Yet before her
Blood soaked.
His body
Remained warm
Evident....
He had choked...
Supine,
His face...naked
Baring no scars of emotion
Unchanging...
Uncaring...
Her lack of devotion
Now monotone motions,
Are all that exist
But this time....Destiny
Delivered a twist....
As she bends down,
Beside him,
For one final kiss....
Alas...
Her fate
Although somewhat late
Assures that she trips
Her heart was then pierced
Just as she had slain his....
And her arrows did quiver
As their pain entered deep
For her slow...
Yet just death
Was now ready to reap
Her evil sewn
Was beginning to seep.......
As forever...
Eternal...
She was now his to keep...
And forever
Eternal
Bound with him.....in sleep...

Dear Poetess Carey Milton,
A fabulous write, Crystal clear image, which very suitable to your beautiful verse, My vote, I love the below lines:
A twist of fate is an unpredicted or random occurrence with far-reaching consequences, an unexpected happening with far-reaching consequences like something unexpected happened its kind of like irony. It means something turns out the way you didn't expect it too, that is what is life and love,
My applause to dear Carey for sharing such a good verse,
Regards
