Unfortunate Fortunate

Unfortunate Fortunate

I saw a few in ragged clothes
None but them with sagging woes
I saw a few as small as four
I saw them all cold and sore

Stood there I did
flabbergasted with shock
lost with sympathetic Β pain
thought I was poor
But got everything I got
toy car to shuttlecock

A penny a day that's all they would say.
Crying lonely heartsΒ
like us they are aliveΒ
so then why?
why do they roam
without a home?

I sat thinking to myself
how sickening I am
to have what I haveΒ
and take it all
for granted.
