Vampire's Remorse

It was darkness that brought him here,
He touched her silent dewy tear.
From early dusk he lost control,
Wanting the mortals precious soul.
With his blazing want and desire,
Locked inside his intensive fire.
Her soul he loved, yet needed more,
This urge that he must drink her core.
The night was long, the need did burn,
Save her from his almighty yearn.
Wanting always, to him be chained,
To ensure this love, was sustained.
She really did not understand,
He could not force, on her demand
As she begged him to let her in
His resistance was wearing thin
She embraced her darkest desire
Realising now his pent up fire.
The moment over, she was gone
His remorse, will always live on.

I think POETESSDARKLY had better watch her back!!
We seem to have a new burgeoning Mistress of Darkness gathering her poetic strength to wrest the Obsidian Crown from our dear Lisa's head!!!
I love the couplet:
"Her soul he loved, yet needed more,
This urge that he must drink her core."
...the whole poem, the whole idea and story behind it hinges on these lines.
Marvellous!

Thank you J, your very kind.. x
ย 'Twas Poetess Darkleys inspiration,
That that tweaked poetic imagination
Theย crownย remains forever more
Lisa'sย Poetry, I do adore.
Sorry...this is just dreadful poetry...but you know what I mean!!

Love this ;)
"Yes well your dreadful, is still flipping amazing" :)
The Obsidian Crown would bring me bad Karmer
J, my poeticย friend who loves all the drama

Insanity yes, you are correct
Thisย wily Minx must insist
you invest wellย in each subject
which is very difficultย to resist ;)
Wow wonder why my ears were burning lol
Lovely dark write. it is always healthy to haveย a littleย competition. there is always room in the dark genre for more than one deva lol
Lorna your work surpasses my humble pen.
Yes, Lisa your ears must have been burning xxx
I'm honored that you like it, I will never have the wonderfulย articulation like you :)
thank you xx
Honestly I am not all that articulate. I use a site called wordhippo.com . if you want another word for the same meaning it is a good place to look. I hate over used wording in poetry. it gives you another word, opposites, rhyme and meanings of words. just type the word your looking for and it comes up with a list.
Thanks for the tip, I will keep that in mind :) xx
WHAT?!?
DO MY EYES DECEIVE ME??? DARKLY uses a word website!!!!
I am shocked and appalled!!! Shocked and appalled!!!!!
?
now now J, be nice and (sweet) I mean adorable.......
Intense dramatic interpretation of vampire tales.
Great work.
Wishing you all the best. ย :)
Thank you x

Lorna, eat your heart out Anne Rice.
Superb after a second and deserving reading and well done for with this supernatural write you have really nailed it here.
And being a huge Annie (voice of an angel) Lennox fan (and Kate Bush fan) check her Love Song for a Vampire on youtube, which like your ethereal poem really delivers.
An oldie poem it maybe, but certainly for this reader and others who have visited here- a goldie :) x.ย

Ahh Shaun this was many moons ago...I loved Interview with a Vampire!! I've read a few but not all of her books a long time ago. I'll check out the song ...I like Annie Lennox but I've not heard that...I'll check it out :) Kate Bush has an amazing voice but I probably only really know wuthering heights...
thank you for your kind replyย

Many moons ago Lorna but deftly done and love reading the dark, off the beaten norm track of poetry.
And you have nailed it here.
And Annie's song is well worth a looksee and dear Kate Bush is my all time fav who has done it all. Writes way off the beaten track, produces and her voice is sublime. Pure brilliance!!
And this Halloween Night she will be performing here on Cosmo... attached to something wretchedly written!! x.
Ahh brilliant,
Ooh looking forward to reading yourย wretchedly written work.
