"We Are the Change!"

"I never thought was needed,
and in active addiction,
I so very believed it.

I would slip away,
to a liar bliss,
and there were so many things,
that I missed,
but with no will to live,
why should I care.
Reality was bothersome,
I didn't want to be there.

Shining light on my problems,
seemed like deep lacerations,
and the drugs,
painted a prettier picture,
across the wet dirt,
that I dug deep down in,
as more hurt became pain,
I forgot about God,
'What was His Name?'
Yet He never forgot of me,
and anticipated the day,
I would reach out to Him,
in what I would pray.

'My child,
oh sweet child.
You have to take,
the good with the bad.
Pick your head up.
Please don't be sad!
Let this be a new life,
you couldn't have had,
if you were not thankful,
of the good in the bad.
Appreciation and gratitude,
will take you far!
Now shine bright,
and be the star,
I know you are!'

Then everything changed,
I accepted and forgave the old pain,
and I stuck close to God,
and I was never the same.

Real change is possible,
if you really need it,
but you have to reach out,
and you have to believe it!"
