What is real
What the fuck is actually real
Enjoy pretending your day is surreal
Take that photo of your fancy meal
Snap and share, hunger pains they feel
What the fuck is actually real
The help we call on our necks they kneel
The backstabbers we call friends about to steal
Someone we love, it’s pain we feel
What the fuck is actually real
We photoshop, fake smile, are lips are sealed
Of the truths behind our eyes that are real
We all want more before we keel

Well chosen words and no holding back, say it as you see it.
Too true and sadly in life many times revealed and if you seek the truth in someone just look into their eyes and hold that gaze for just a bit longer than usual. It can speak volumes.

Very powerful Dominque, sometimes, I believe swearing in poetry can rub some people the wrong way... but not in this work!! It actually seems to build emotion and add to the effect of speaking from the heart. Love the photo too. Suits the poem super well. Kudos!! Your friend, Max

I don't think anything is actually real only the moment. Even solid things present a different reality depending on lighting, size of viewer, perspective. A coffee table looks a lot different to an ant than to a human. But it's still a coffee table right...to the human anyway. Like the image in your post. I ramble...reality got killed for me when I found our all the stars were actually dead...lol.. 🤔😆🤗
