Poem -

When?

When?

Do you see the end of this,
The day to day bad news,
Will people ever tow that line,
Too busy with their views.

Ignoring that which can't be seen,
Some say it isn't there,
Normality comes in different forms,
Deny it if you dare.

Can you afford to risk the risk,
Is it safe or is it not,
Play the odds or double down,
Is it up to you, it's not.

I know people who've had the jab,
And those that Covid discovered,
I know no one that has had a clot,
But I know those who have recovered.

The fish of the sea

Love this. Brilliantly clever, I have such a soft spot for solid rhyme and structure. I really liked this line;

Can you afford to risk the risk,
Is it safe or is it not,
Play the odds or double down,
Is it up to you, it's not.

As a fellow poet, I`m taking notes! Inspirational.

Hello Glen,
I think these covid poems will one day be discussed in the decades to come. So your words for me are leaving a hint to our one day history. I had the “dodgy” vaccine and never got a clot. But I know people who have had covid, recovered and one relative who died of it. It’s definitely a confusing time for all of us. A problem that will always be a globally shared worry. Thanks for highlighting it and doing so in perfect rhyme
Gwen :)

Hello Gwen,
Thankyou for your comment. The hit and miss of the solution also makes you think twice about getting what is recommended. I tried my hardest to give an unbiased look at the problems we face.
I am so glad you are okay after getting the vaccine, and I am sorry to hear that you lost a family member.
Here is to a brighter future, because these times are tough for a lot of people, trying to make a living.

Regards,
Glen Hill

Being Me

Great poem Glen. I had the dodgy vaccine..no clot. I think, actually, the likelyhood of getting blood clots while on the contraceptive pill is higher. I am sure I read that somewhere. No one seems to bother much about that! Anyway, I digress, great poem! 👍 x

Nice work...it is a puzzle to be worked out by the individual I think...that's the main thing that people are free to decide fir themselves x

Thankyou Being Me for your comments. I am glad you are okay and I didn't know about the pill and uts higher rate, apparently it is safe for pregnant women as well, it is a big decision, it is stressful enough being pregnant and hoping everything is going to be okay.

Thankyou for your comments Marion, as I said I tried to be as unbiased as I could, just reporting in the poem of what I have heard through friends and colleagues.
