Where Holly Meets the Ivey

Where Holly Meets the Ivey

Where the Holly meets the Ivey, there my heart does lie.

In cherry and pumpkin, near great apple pie.

The Holly meets the Ivey, I know not the reason,

All that I know is when tis’ the season.

Presents beneath, the Great old Pine tree,

Where Holly and Ivey Meet, that is the place for me.

When the Holly Meets the Ivey, the wild north wind blows,

Covering the Motherland in heavy drifts of snow.

The Holly and the Ivey ring forth through the sky,

Down deep in the Motherland, I know my heart will Lie.

Oh up in heaven the joyful host rings forth,

Gently singing to the Motherland, the Diamond of the North.

St. Nicholas smiles Upon the Northland this day,

When the traces of Autumn blow west on its way.

Let feasting and singing be in every home,

Let loose is the winter, the wistful south wind moans.
