White Doves:

The Final Farewell

White Doves:

Your white doves dance in the
Summer breeze like
the curtains of the hotel room window
You left open on your final day.

You bid us farewell like any other time,
Without expressing the pain you felt,
You swallowed the bitter pill
Of leaving us with only memories.

And as you laid with your eyes
Closed to the outside world,
Hearts all over wept, distraught
At only what remains of you.

So, tainted by the black crows of night,
Your white doves still dance in the winter chill,
Yet it's no more easier to breathe a single breath,
Without you holding my hand to the beating of their wings.

I just want to put a comment here as reminder to anyone who reads this poem;
Please,
Don’t suffer in silence.
Your voice, no matter how quiet you think it is, will be heard.
I promise you this.
So please, please...
Don’t suffer in silence.

Letting someone in can be hard, but it can save you from the despair and depression you feel.
You really do matter.
