Looking Out Into The Night

The cigarette smoke swirls around the air,
I’m staring into the night air feeling lonely again.
Wishing not for you, but for the arms you provided;
The solace your chest gave after a long day,
For the warmth your kisses left on my cheeks.
Now the cigarette smoke is stale on my tongue,
The sky is no less beautiful, bleeding blue into grey,
The sun has set a while back but the sky is still illuminated,
And I let tears wash down my face for all the aching
My heart, is the only warmth I have for now.
So now I smoke alone, on the back steps,
Looking out into the darkened night,
A sense of calm over me, allowing myself to feel,
Feeling the breeze as the arms and the stars as my solace
And the warmth? I take from knowing I am finally at peace.

Awww...the emotion is strong in this. Well written...except that last word...I am guessing it is meant to read 'peace' ? ? x
