Poem -

Father, Father, Why?

Father, Father, Why?

I knelt in the Church, hands clasped
Head bowed
Strained thoughts and distracted mind.
Father, Father, why?
Why has this happened?

Besides me, my father stands,
Hands raised to the sky in appraisal,
Mouth open in exaggerated praise,
Father, Father, why?
Why does he act so innocent...

But behind closed doors he is demonic,
Hurtful, spiteful, harmful.
Father why?
Why do you hurt my brother, my sister
My mother?

Father, Father, Why do you hurt me?
