Who Do You Want To Be?

Looking In A Mirror

Who Do You Want To Be?

While looking in the mirror,
a quiet person said to me.
Who do you want to be?
I said I couldn't answer,
for there was nothing I could see.

Waking up every day to cover my face.
Feeling in my heart that I could just erase.
The lines on my face from stress,
there wasn't much I could no, not in this case.

To marrying my best friend,
we have dealt with more than some can.
Work , bills to pay.
We ask many times, will it ever end?

We were blessed to be dad and mom.
Songs to our children, we did hum.
Especially at Christmas,
even when they grew.  Excitement when they come.

I started out not knowing,
What happened as I was growing.
Older and older by the day.
The aging lines in my figure, sure needed sewing.

When you ask, who I want to be.
Looking back in the mirror I see.
On Christmas morning and all my life, I just want to be,
Me?
