Poem -

Who knows how to Fly?

Inspired by words written from my grandad

Who knows how to Fly?

If you want to cross the river? but don't know how to fly!
There's no use sitting waiting until it all rolls by.

Cold water's too deep to wade in,
and the current is too fast to swim.
Without the tools to build a bridge
It's too far to jump off the ridge.

If you want to cross the river? but don't know how to fly!
There's no use sitting waiting until it all rolls by.

Thoughts transpire within your mind
That scratching itch, most trickiest find.
When all expectations seem so lost,
Like old wives tales, keep your fingers crossed

If you want to cross the river? but don't know how to fly!
There's no use sitting waiting until it all rolls by.

You live in (hope, less) visions anew
Or do you step up to think it through?
Find your own way, give it some grit
When life gives us troubles, don't just quit

If you want to cross the river? but don't know how to fly!
There's no use sitting waiting until it all rolls by.

Maybe you don't need to learn how to fly?

Very upbeat and with oodles of encouragement offered up to arouse
and awaken, then to inspire.
A little positivity goes a long, long way, like a little spark of inspirit can beget a beacon of new found true grit and will never stray.
Your grandad  knows how to get results and derive the best of people to achieve things that they perchance thought were remote and inaccessible.
Well done you for writing this get up and go mantra with a va va voom, never say die theme  and to your grandad with his engaging mindset, of nothing is too difficult or even impossible.
Thanks Lorna for your noteworthy good intentions advice.
Shaun :) xx

Hello Shaun, thanks for popping by
this one is still a bit of a work in progress I think, but I might change my mind haha
But yes a little bit of strong will and good intentions seem to resonate with this
I'm glad you like it, I didn't actually know my granda as he passed before I was one, but I think we both had an interest in writing
