Who Knows The House?

Who Knows The House?

Who knows the house where the red head lives
With her cats and her son, and who gives
Her husband a kiss as he leaves for the day,
And cleans and cooks and wipes away
Any traces of dirt from around the place;
And who lovingly mends, and leaves no trace
Of yesterday's cups or forks or knives?
She leads a simple, perfect life
As she cares, and makes, and gives.

Who knows the house where the liar lives?

Being Me

Hi Jim, we all have perceptions of how others live but the truth is, no one ever knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment, it means a lot x

Jim "The Lad" ....

A ton of deceiving Overbearing men out there, the scourge of the world, they abuse women, and children! There is a scripture where the Lord states that those who abuse His little ones, that if they did not repent " it would be better that a millstone were hung around their neck and were drowned in the depths of the sea!"Not a perfect quote but I think you know what I mean. This needs to be brought in the light over and over. Thank You!

Wasn't expecting that ending...really wasn't Tina and all the more powerful.a write for that. Love this...beautiful flow, simple language and it hits like a brick!! It also has a deeper meaning about all kinds of hypocrisy I think...those who harshly judge whilst maintaining a pretence at perfection...brilliant lovely lady...pinned ?

Hi Marion...I am so glad you got the intent of this write. As I said to Jim, just now, none of us ever really knows what goes on behind closed doors. We often think we do. But we dont, not really.  Is this lady a victim or is she a villain? I will leave that to the readers interpretation. She could quite easily be either.

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment. I have to dash off so wont have much time to read today but I will do some more catching up later ? x

That was great!! Like reading a short story, the ending was what made it and leaves it open to many interpretations.
A follow up could be written?
But if not it stands perfectly well on its own ?

Hiya... Glad you liked this. I wrote it so that the reader can decide whether the woman was a victim or if in fact she was the villain. Was she abused and putting on a front? Or was she an unfaithful wife putting on a front? I will leave that for the reader to decide. Thank you so much for reading and commenting I greatly appreciate it x

Thanks for reading and leaving your thoughts, Greg. We don't know what really goes on, do we? Not that we should as it is none of our business. But it gives writers and poets something to play with x

A new poem Tina! To be honest, I have been checking your profile quite often (not in a creepy way lol) still nearly missed the post! I love it so much and it kind of follows on from your previous in my opinion. I like its simplicity a lot, sometimes detail is not needed to convey a message. Overall amazing write from a talented poet. All the best. The Fish of the Sea

Especially when people talk about you behind your back and in their house and what they say even family you know And some people in Cosmo

Oh absolutely, that is sooo true!  I always say that if anyone talks about people behind their backs to you then make no mistake that they do the same about you. And I am talking purely about malicious gossip here that often has no base in reality what so ever.

I hope you are okay, Greg.  All the best to you ❤ x

Yes gossip is a big thing  and it can hurt
I am doing fine Tina thank you peace and love to you

I really think that gossip says far more about the person spreading it than the recipient. But that is my personal view. Probably not everyone agrees but that is up to them  we are all entitled to our own opinions.

Peace and love to you too, Greg xx

Wow with Halloween having come and gone this one is quite the mystery and intrigue. I love the duel face of the write. I enjoy a good mystery and that your write leaves it up to the reader's interpretation.

Hi Being Me. I love the little sting in the tail of this poem. No ones lives are ever perfect. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors?

Well, I was not expecting that at all .. There I was, imagining some kind of Stepford Wife type busy hoovering the front lawn and polishing the guttering & down pipes ready for hubby to arrive home after a hard days canoodling with his PA and then ya go and land that one on me ...

Sheesh I really dont like liars ..
Isn't it amazing how folk create and hide behind their masks ..
The timing on this could not be bettered ... and can you possibly slip me her number on the sly :) x

Thankyou for visiting my pages and reading this, Neville, it is so much appreciated.

Masks! Yeah, we all use them to some extent but some use them to  both project and protect their perfect image. Mu own personal mantra is " I am what I am, I'm not what I'm not so I have to make do with the things that I've got."  The skeletons in my cupboard are extremely well socialised 😉 (we're a team).

As for this woman's number  I havent got it I'm afraid but she lives in Ramsgate.

I hope all is well with you Neville. Thank you so much for your support my friend x
