Why do I Serve?

Why do I Serve?

I serve for my countries freedom
But yet my people aren’t free
Everyday police brutally beat em
Because they can no longer lynch us to a tree
My people kneel at games
To show we are not blind
Who am I to hold the grudge or blame
Even tho I serve with country with pride
Justice isn’t being done
and yet you all act oblivious
Like racism isn’t low key still going on
And act surprised when we’re vicious
My people struggle with getting jobs
Because we’re judged off of our hair and skin
And wonder why my people begin selling them rocks
But yet you give us time and put us in pins
We’re forced into urban areas
With barely any breath to grow
We’re hostile and you’re just waiting to bury us
Barely any food to eat and the income is low
But yet this is the land of the free
But I realize your whole plan
There was never really a spot for me
But I managed to slip past your mine land
We’re not a priority
I completely understand
It’s time for us minorities
To finally take a stand
Give me something worth serving
Not a discriminated country
No use for violence and hurting
Just give my people a chance to make some good money
Let’s bond as one
There’s shidd I know that you don’t
I’m just tryna grind for my future son
What’s gonna stop me?nothing won’t
If this poem offends you
Go ahead and swerve
When will this war end dude?
Remind me why do I serve?
