Yes, Virginia...there IS a Boogeyman

There are many monsters, in various guises.
Werewolves, zombies—others full of surprises.
But the worst type of monster that you’ll ever meet
walks upright on two legs, has ten toes on it's feet.
 
 
No fangs are they baring, no vicious, vile claws.
They lurk in the murk—slink near shadowy walls.
Their appearance seems normal; just an average Joe.
Should your kids get too close, well ... that's when they'll know.
 
 
They're the stuff made of nightmares—they are truly obscene.
And the foul things they do go unnoticed, unseen.
Their lascivious longings just cannot be sated.
By all here on earth, these foul monsters are hated.
 
 
They strike in the night; their own children their victim,
They live all around you, dictate their dread dictum.
Sneaky, some cheeky, they appear squeaky clean.
Young innocence stolen, their covetous scheme.
 
 
Virginia, you don’t have to peek under your bed,
but out in the schoolyard for monsters, instead.
Remember, Virginia, please heed my advice—
the Boogeyman's real and his heart's cold as ice!
