Yesterday

Yesterday

Have you ever been pin down,
dragged or cried in silence.
That shh don't tell nobody,
I mean because who would believe a slut.
That he say, she say men ain't all the same.
Yet you wouldn't know until you've begun to feel the pain.
Have you ever felt not so pretty?
The pretty that's been forced upon, broken, and betrayed.
Nah y'all not catching onto what I'm saying.
It isn't red, black, or blue.
Neither is her beauty an excuse to his wrong doing.
Walking in disbelief,
Denial and insecurities.
Of course he wouldn't know,
Why a woman will feel such way?
Thinking out loud,
why and how?
As the blue skies turns grey,
Still words unspoken of yesterday.
