Poem -

You expect me to....

You'd expect me to have cried

when he said goodbye

you would've expected me to die

when i found out he lied

but this situation

really isn't mine to fret about

i will not heave a sigh

bury my head

or pout

his sin is on his head

he alone made his sordid bed

I am not the victim of circumstance

my role is sure not made my chance

whatever his fate

he chose to dishonor his mate

I will not change to accommodate revenge

my character will not fraternize with hatred and malice

i will not come down from my palace

disgrace and shame is a place for swine

so leave me be as i sip my wine

i will not wait for you

i will not watch what you do

you live your life and I'll live mine

and take my indifference

as a sign

my stability in this storm

does not speak of weakness

so don't think the mess of this act

will taint my neatness

you did what you did

you dug for yourself a pit

but i will pity you

yes. that is true

i won't drop to your level

and leave my self worth disheveled

take to the road

and take your catastrophe with you

I'm not a victim

and this i will prove.
