Your Journey to Forgiveness

Your Journey to Forgiveness

You think I hate you, and maybe I should, but don’t,
I just pray that the old you I fell in love with returns and you find the guy I use to know.
I do hate you’ve torn our family apart and left me all alone,
Crawling in muddy water, falling, I hate that your hearts turned so cold,
What once was a heart of gold has turned to stone.
I hate that you ripped me apart till all that was left on me was bones.
Now you’re Trying to see but your surrounded by the world’s temptations,
Your hearts telling you no, but your mind is still contemplating.
Sucking you in and making all your decisions,
Your mind is cloudy to dark to think straight, so nobody is winning.
Each day is filled with a new trial a new tree to climb,
Things just continue to spiral around you, and you keep asking God why,
Is it just my life or has karma finally caught me?
Please God wipe these tears away, give me back my dignity,
All the things you’ve done to get you to this point,
Now your feeling the pain, in your every bone and joint.
All the lies you’ve told and hearts that you’ve broken,
All the people still numb from the hurtful words you’ve spoken.
Never thought you’d lose everything you had, never thought there would be this day,
Where there is no way out, no where to run to you patiently wait,
Asking God for answers about why your life is this way,
Showered in anxiety, depression with a face of dismay.
How’d you go from having the world at your fingertips,
To having to rebuild from the ground up because you’ve lost your grip.
You let your heart control your mind,
You followed your own may you didn’t watch the signs,
They told you to stop but you kept going anyways,
God showed you the way, but you didn’t obey.
He said yield with caution and you’ll make it because I’m always with you,
But you turned without looking, you hit head on, now left with trauma and cracked glass to look though.
Your heart shattered too, now your stuck with all the pieces,
Trying to pick them up yourself yet again calling on the name Jesus.
Why do you call on him when your just in need?
Yet not when you were at the top never got down on even one knee.
So many have warned you and told you to listen and stop running,
But you laughed and thought it was funny,
now your steady trying to survive, hunting for money and food and love and joy but you find nothing.
So empty inside searching in all the wrong places,
Seeking constant attention, from anyone and anything, but the pain wont leave you still face it,
You’ve been given more than enough chances but all you do is waste them,
Knowing the right decision to make, but you’ve turned your back on him, now your condemned,
To condemnation, hanging on your own limb,
Pieced by the thorn, your pain bleeds out now your scorned,
From the consequences of your actions,
tears flowing, no strength left in your eyes there’s no passion,
constantly distracted, heavily impacted, by life’s venomous distractions,
I see dark and cold when I look in your eyes,
I see a lost soul, I feel your cries, I still see the light in you that once shined so bright.
I watch you fade more every day,
Swimming in the ocean of sorrow and guilt from your past mistakes.
I find myself crying for you, with you, because I still care,
Though you don’t know your way out I fight for you with prayer,
I silently stand behind you, despite the ways you’ve hurt me over and over,
I still stand in your shadow and let you rest your head on my shoulder.
I hate to see you drink, I hate the drugs you use to cope,
I hate who it makes you become, I hate that you’ve lost all your hope.
I hate that the person that I once knew has lost all their desire,
You have so much to live for and so much potential but your so blinded by world flames and fire.
You shut the world out and I think you’ve lost yourself and your drive
You don’t even know what makes you happy anymore, or what makes you warm inside.
You’ve fallen in this endless hole you feel its no need to climb,
But if you just stop running and look to God he will give you your wings to fly.
God is your answer God is your peace,
God is your refuge your constant friend in need.
He will forgive you of your sins and take away those twisted thoughts,
He will make those demons flee back to hell, because he made you his on that cross,
He died for me, he died for you too,
With him there’s no battle that you will ever loose.
Stop reminiscing and Let God be your intervention,
Don’t throw up your hands, just open your heart up and listen.
Praise him in the storm, and thank him for the rain,
He will turn all your sorrows into victories nothing he does is in vain.
Take away, and erase those thoughts of suicide,
Stop questioning god and get rid of all that pride.
Lay that broken man at his feet and trust him to lift you up,
he has his hands all over you trust that he is enough.
Stop giving into your flesh, and confess,
Give it to God and he’ll give you rest.
If God will forgive you, then I will too,
I guess we will just have faith and patiently wait on you.
Its up to you to make your life better,
Hopefully one day soon you’ll get your life together.
Fall on your knees and be gods witness,
Its all about repentance on your journey to forgiveness.
