Your Own Lullaby

The thunder sounds throughout the sky,
While the lightning echoes through the clouds.
Together they are beautiful,
a forewarning of the storm to come.
They lighten the path
through the darkened sky,
and the rain follows.
Together,
rain, thunder and lightning,
create a scene that is not only
beautiful,
but also frightening.
The lightning brightens the sky,
showing the wind,
aroused by the storms strength.
And even the sturdiest of natures creations
bend in submission.
Outside the rain soaks you to the bone,
and blurs your vision.
While the thunder claps in approval,
shaking the ground you stand on.
Meanwhile inside your soul,
deep down to your core,
your emotions are turning like a hurricane.
They embrace the storm.
The anger,
The sadness,
and the beauty.
You become enveloped in the storm,
a part of the storm.
Inside you fall asleep
to the sound of falling rain,
the cracks of lightning
and the laugher of thunder.
