Chapter 21
The Knockout
Catherine is starting to find her way in this new world. The fog is still present but is starting to thin allowing her to take short trips on foot. She is coming home from the cemetery where she witnessed a terrible rant from her son Joe demanding Mom find a girl for him. She enters her home and heads upstairs to wake her husband. She sees Tom is lying awake in his coffin listening to music.
Â
Catherine tells Tom, “We have to talk. I just came back from the graveyard and your son is demanding I find him a wife. He is even thinking about killing Tommy!”
Â
Tom replies, “I have sensed the two of them don’t like living together. The boys are finding out what life is about without Mom to protect them. No wonder they refused to leave the nest. You did everything for them. Cooking, cleaning, washing, buying their clothes. They used your brain for all the decision they had to make. They wore you out. Now they are crying like a bunch of babies. Tommy thinks you committed suicide. You should have pushed them out of the nest.”
Â
“I know that now. I held on to them too long.”
 Â
Catherine paces back and forth, “I am afraid if we do not do something bad things will happen.”
  Â
“What do you want to do?” Tom asks.
Â
Catherine pauses and then tells her husband, “First Joe is dreaming of his cousin, then he is dreaming about the Lady he works with, then his boss fixes him up with a Whore this is not going in the right direction. I want to accept Dr. Parmo’ s offer and have him arrange an introduction with the girl he thinks is perfect for Joe.”
Â
Tom looks at his wife in disbelief, “ I told you he is not ready for any girl.”
Â
“Did you know what they did in work? They tried to fix Joe up with a prostitute! I think we should let Dr. Parmo arrange the introduction. This girl can help Joe with his depression by giving him a different set of goals, ” Catherine tells her husband.
Â
“You already have your mind made up. You are going to do what you want to do regardless of what I say. For the record, I think the idea is good but the timing is wrong. Do what you want but if it does not work out I do not want to hear about it.” Tom closes
the lid on his coffin and returns to resting and listening to Trance music.
 Â
Catherine is now more than ever determined to prove her husband wrong and heads off to Dr. Parmo’s Office. She meets with the good Doctor and he is very happy she has agreed to allow the Doctor to make the introduction between his Sandy and her Joe. He will arrange for Joe to have an imagined toothache that will force Joe to call his office for an appointment to see the Dentist. Before he sees the Dentist he will have to receive his routine dental cleaning where he will finally meet Sandy. The Doctor invited Catherine to
join him on the morning Joe will meet Sandy and the two can watch what develops.
Â
Lucifer is writing in his Book of The Dead as his Mother enters the room. He rises from his throne and kisses his Mother on the Lips.
“Good news! This is the latest on the Havard case. A family friend Dr. Parmo is going to arrange an introduction between Joe Havard and a girl named Sandy who works as a dental hygienist at his old office. The girl is attractive and will be the perfect host for Lamia to possess. This girl will go from attractive to Drop Dead Gorgeous and work her magic on Mr. Havard. Once she gets in his head and mind he will be, “Screaming Demons” as the song goes. The only way he
will get her out of his head is to put a bullet in his brain. Once he does that we will own his soul for eternity and Mr. Havard will pay for insulting me.”
Â
Joe Havard is sitting at his desk in work. He is starting to focus better and is slowly coming back to his old work standard of being a dependable employee. He has picked up a bad habit of drinking eight to ten cups of coffee a day. He takes another sip of coffee and yells out, “Ouch! My tooth.” He rubs his finger on a back tooth and it starts to ache.
Â
“I better call Dr. Parmo’s office and make an appointment.” He dials the dentist office, “This is Joe Havard my tooth is aching and I need to see the Doctor.”
Â
“Do you need to see him today?” Mary Ellen asks.
Â
“Do you have any openings this Saturday?” Joe wonders.
Â
“Yes, ten o’clock is available. Let me check your file. I see you were scheduled for a cleaning in December but we called you to cancel because the Doctor had just passed away. If you can come on Saturday then I can schedule you for cleaning with Amy and
then you can see our new Doctor Habit. Oh! I just realized Amy is not available so you would have to see Sandy.”
Â
“Okay, I will see you this Saturday at Ten Good Bye. It never fails every time you make a dental appointment your tooth stops hurting.” Joe returns to his coffee and answering the phones.
 Â
The two days leading up to Saturday pass without incident and it is Saturday morning and Joe is driving in his 1985 Burgundy Oldsmobile Cutlass. He pulls into the dental parking lot and parks next to two identical Volvo’s: one white and one gold. This is the first time Joe has been back to Dr. Parmo’s Office since his death and is very nervous and excited for some strange reason. Going to the dentist has been a lifelong emotional experience for Joe. Remembering those fifteen-minute drilling sessions as an early youth to fill his dental cavities forced Joe in later years to have good
teeth pulled so he would not have to experience that pain again. When he stepped out of his car he looked at the tan brick building and it looked different this time. Joe rubbed his eyes and saw a black and white American Flag draped over the building which
looked now like a Mausoleum. He blinked his eyes again and it looked like the tan brick building it was. Â
Â
Entering the office Joe waived hello to Mary Ellen and he took a seat in the waiting room. Dr. Parmo and Catherine Havard stood silently in the corner of the room waiting for the introduction to begin.
Â
Joe stared silently at the dark green rug not looking at anyone. He then turned to look at the closed oak wooden shutters covering the windows and finally the dark walnut paneling on the walls. He picked up his head momentarily and saw a Blond Blur pass quickly in the hall in front of him.
Â
He lowered his head and sensed someone was walking toward him who said, “Hello Mr. Havard I am your dental hygienist for today. My
name is Sandy will you follow me?” The only thing Joe saw was the hygienist’s hands as she clasped them together. He never saw her face but blindly rose from his seat and followed the girl in the lime green dental uniform and white pants and white canvas running shoes.
Â
Patient and hygienist entered the surgery room and again Joe passed the girl without looking at her. He sat in the chair with his eyes fixed directly on the wall.
Â
“Sandy asked, “Can you remove your eyeglasses and give them to me?” He does without looking at the girl.
Â
Dr. Parmo and Catherine squeezed into the corner of the room waiting to see Joe’s expression when he first sees the girl.
Â
“Can you turn your head to the right?” Sandy asks.
Â
Because Lamia contains energy at a lower vibration Dr. Parmo and Catherine cannot sense she has possessed Sandy the Dental Hygienist.
Â
Joe slowly turns his head to the right and looks directly at Sandy. Joe sees beauty beyond his comprehension. Porcelain skin, flawless complexion, Angelic Face, Penetrating Green Eyes. The room goes Black for Joe. He lies passed out in the Dentist Chair.
Â
This is too much for any man to see. Just as Medusa turned men to stone when they saw her Sandy with the help of Lamia has knocked out her new patient with her gaze. Joe finally regains his senses and comes to and is now looking up at the ceiling where his hygienist is looking directly down at him.
Â
Joe again looks at Sandy’s face and sees a bright ring of yellow light radiating from around her face. Joe thinks for several seconds God has finally granted his wish and sent him an Angel to bring him home. He has absolutely no idea where he is now but will do whatever the Angel says. Â
Â
“I think your son passed out when he saw Sandy,” The Doctor tells a worried Catherine Havard. Her facial expression turns from Hope to deep concern.
Â
Sandy picks her dental pic and starts her cleaning. Joe is trapped by her beauty and cannot take his eyes away off her face. Sandy diligently scales and cleans each tooth and completes her surface cleaning. She leans back against the counter and removes her mask to again show her patient her absolutely stunning beautiful face.Â
Â
She tells Joe, “ I have completed your initial cleaning but you have some bleeding and swelling in your gums. I recommend you see a Periodontist for deep cleaning under the gums.”Â
Â
Joe responds, “ I did see one ten years ago and he cut my gums. Dr. Parmo said he should have tried the deep cleaning first before surgery.”
Â
“I can do the cleaning for you here. I use to work for Periodontist for twelve years but we do not offer that procedure at this office,” Sandy tells her patient. The new dentist enters the room and introduces himself, “ Hello I am Dr. Habit.”
Â
“Hello, Doctor. Sandy did a wonderful cleaning job. She is tremendously strong and has a Schwarzenegger right arm.”
  Â
The doctor reviews the notes in Joe’s chart, “I see Sandy has recommended you see a Periodontist for an evaluation.”Â
Â
“Doctor, Sandy said she could do the cleaning at this office. I would rather have her do it. If she does not do the cleaning I won’t have it done.”Â
Â
“Sandy can you step outside for a minute,” the Doctor asks. The two return and the Doctor tell's his patient, “ If you want Sandy to do the treatment we will do it here in four visits. We still strongly recommend you see a Periodontist. Sand, will you see Mary Ellen schedules Mr. Havard for the deep tissue cleaning?”
Â
“Yes Doctor.” Sandy removes the dental apron from Joe and asks him to follow her to the front desk. Joe is scheduled for next Saturday for the first cleaning.
Â
Dr. Parmo turns to Catherine, “I was a little worried when you son passed out but he seems to have recovered nicely.”
Â
“I just don’t know. The girl may be too attractive for Joe. She is beautiful but girls like that can wear a man’s mind out. I just don’t know enough about her.”
Â
“Catherine trust me. She is a very compassionate, kind and sincere woman. She would never do anything to harm your son. Let’s see how it goes.” Â
Â
Sandy walks into the waiting room and looks out the window to see her new patient drive away in his car. Lamia, the demon, is seen exiting her body and she returns to being plain Sandy.
