A New Beginning

It's something I'd gotten used to
Like curtains drawn in a room
Darkness you don't really notice
A comforting feeling of gloom
Now those curtains are open
And I am shielding my eyes
I think I'm starting to enjoy it
And it's come as quite a surprise
For a future has opened before me
That I had trouble seeing before
Because I looked back, reflected and wondered
If it hadn't all happened before
But now I'm bathing in sunlight
It's nice to be out of the dark
Like the feeling you get on a warm summers day
While having a stroll in a park

Hi Russell,
"Saturday in the park, you'd think it was the Fourth of July".
Your words are very beautiful, and bring tears to both my eyes
Your thoughts go very deeply, you've exposed your loving soul
As a new poet now on Cosmo, you I do extol
You see that I have commented on your beautiful poem with one of my own. You will find, that on Cosmo, this is the ultimate honor bestowed upon a fellow poet. Your words move me deeply, and I think you have a wonderful future in store for you with us, your new family.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
