A Prayer For The Lottery

John Astley

I pray o Lord look down on me

And help me win the lottery

It’s been ten years now, I must admit

And I’ve only won a lucky dip

Birthdays and deaths fill my ticket

So it’s only fair you help me win it

Oh life would be sweet, life would be grand

If you could peer through the clouds and lend a hand

The newspaper picture I can see

We chose to tick publicity

Champagne in hand, she gave me a peck

As I hold aloft a giant cheque

It might appear that I’m being greedy

But you really would be helping the needy

I know you’re busy with life, creation and all

So I’d settle for five and the bonus ball

I LOVE THIS!!::LOL!!!......I was smiling all the way through this JOHN........ and then I cracked up on the final stanza....... this is hysterical......I pinned it because it's so well written ....and I want to show it to some friends........ALL STARS PINNED....... well done brother poet!!.......
