A Stranger Showed Up

I was hiding in an alley way as my heart raced
Scared and hungry, shaking with cold
My lips and fingernail turning blue
When a shadow of a man reflected by a street light came near
I peered behind my hoody wondering if he might be following me
Homeless for five years now, lost my job, my house, and now I am drenched wet from sheets of rain
The bottle has been my best friend for years
Now the shadow has gone away but I can see a briefcase of somesort by the trash bend
I slowly creep near it grab it quickly, open it, and to my amaze, it was filled with hundreds of dollars
Could this be a sign, inside pocket was a note, it read like this
I am a stranger who has a cause, because you have a cause, to get back on your feet
Get off these streets, get something to eat, with this money your shadow will become your path
Just believe in yourself you have so much more to show
The world is not your enemy, the devil has taken hold
Put him behind you, and follow heavens way
