Those were good old days...
Youth with its own wild ways.
Life wasn't riddled with nays,
but a collage of peaks and bays.
An evening, that memory lays
to immerse in, now sashays...
She craved for the beach...
Its mild rhythmic breeze,
which ushered her to places
that she yearned to reach.
Insistent she'd been...
I had banked on lies.
But that day, I'd seen
indignance in her eyes.
The sand was all inviting,
golden bleached and fine.
There blew that breeze
with its aroma saline.

With a glass of wine
I had her, by my side.
Victory was all mine.
Unearthing the carnival
it dawned, I had her caged.
Deprival - now a storm
deep down, rose and raged...
Horizon, far far away
was my lady's vista ...
The waves in tandem
kissed her dainty heels.
Unperturbed, she was !
Time veered off its track.
Indulgence if a vow,
was taken long back.
The Sun disappeared.
I caught it on a screen
that those eyes,
could have only been.
Why had I been so late ?
Cherishing the hour gone by,
the payback now hath started.
She wished to leave, not I .....
