BROKEN LOVE

It was a brief encounter, A brief connection with your words
Your promises and your actions, they temporarily tied two souls together
But you broke the promise
Your words, meant nothing
Your actions, simply revealed your motives 
The connection is broken 
It's no longer trust, hope or commitment 
You took the baring of my soul
You disregarded what it took to open up and trust you.
You didn't guard or cherish, but you walked over and crushed my heart
Trampling over my innermost guarded secrets 
The love, I thought was there
The love I thought securely held us together 
There was no love for us, but for self
Your choices destroyed 
Your actions spoke louder than words
Your broken promises
killed all meaning to love
I won't be holding on to a broken trust
To meaningless words
Or broken promises
I'm holding on to what is left of me, as I walk away
