Gypsy woman

Gypsy woman

I fell in love today.
Eyes like stars-
wandering to the edge of the universe.
I saw flowers...
growing through the cracks of her ribs and caterpillars transforming into beautiful butterflies in the palms of her hard-bitten hands.
Her smoldering tears, rolling down the palest of cheeks...
lips ashen and worn.
Midnight street lights and a half-empty train.
She laughed and I cried.
From that moment, I knew...
I would always look for her...
in crowded rooms, my quiet thoughts and when the sighing earth meets the rain...
