Cool Blue

The cool blue of water over stone
Shadowed only by the verdant lily,
Your fingers kissing the tension
From the surface as pond skaters
Skip about their way.
The chocolate velvet of the majestic
Bullrushes stirred windward by and by,
The trill of crickets making hay
As the sun ekes out it's final sigh.
Capturing that, a snapshot of you
At your most relaxed and beautiful,
To take that with me where'er I go,
A memory to replay when I am down.
The cool blue of water over stone
As I lost you, so the memory is found.
