Open doors

It all started with a small glance,
Wishing you’d give me a chance.
Caught you looking from across the bar,
Those bright eyes took me so far.

To a place where my mind was eased,
All it took was one look at me.
I became super weak in the knees.
And wanted you to come home with me.

It was so hard not to look,
Just one smile is all it took,
Before I became a junkie hooked,
And all your flaws I overlooked.

It was hard to believe,
That you actually wanted me.
The look you gave was a plea,
So I jumped right in and dove deep.

I should have know with the fast pace,
That I could easily be replaced.
Wasn’t long before I was tossed away.
Turns out with you nobody stays.

I was number ten in your book,
My thoughts and feelings were mistook,
You thought that I wouldn’t feel at all,
But when I stumble I really fall.

I guess I’m the only one to blame,
Because heartbreak is in my lane.
It’s a constant motion over again,
It’s not a matter of who it’s when.

I believe in the best of the worse,
My entire love life is cursed.
It may seem like love exists on the surface,
But really it’s ungraspable and is the furthest.

I’ll have to face this heartbreak alone,
It’s something that I’ve grown to know.
If you didn’t want me you should have shown,
Because I can love myself on my own.

I deserve more than what you gave,
I will not waste another day.
For I am destined for so much more,
I’ll close this door for good and will open so much more.
