Poem -

A Donkeys Side

~~
I am nothing more than a lame old donkey
The problems of my load, I feel the world can see

Keep piling it on, I will not break
Where would I end up, the decision, for you to make

The scrapheap seems a tiny whisper away
As I plough my baron field each and everyday

Can you see my placid smile?
Can you see my staggered walk in every mile?

I believe nothing I hear, and half of what I see
Why not be honest and say I'm worthless, just not to me

I will plod and make do in this quest to survive life
You will not break my spirit but you may witness my weary strife

No one I meet shows a flicker of remorse
In their show of excellence they are supreme, of course!

Jane I certainly enjoyed this witty poetic adventure from an unusual perspective, creative to come up with this point of view, fresh as roses idea and an overall superb slice of poetry
