Don't Lie for me

When I lie cold and blue
Breathless and without pulse
In a box and alone
When you gather to say goodbye
And you are asked to say something about me
Don’t lie for me
Tell them how nasty I was
Tell them how obstinate I was
Tell them how greedy I was
Tell them how selfish I was
Don’t tell them I was never without a smile
Don’t tell them I was easygoing and friendly
Don’t tell them I was generous
Don’t tell them I was perfect when I wasn’t
Don’t tell them I’m going to heaven
Don’t lie for me!
If I can, let me do what is right, now that I am alive and  have the opportunity
So that you won’t be lying when you tell them how I’ve lived right
But if I don’t………………Don’t lie for me!

Hi Rose,
Oh goodness, so hard on yourself. As I've quoted before, "Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone". We all have our inadequacies. From the depths and altruism of your words, There Is a beautiful side of you. "The evil that one does lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones". You can prevent this before it is too late. Make your eulogist not have to lie for you.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Hi Larry, Thanks a lot for your words. There's a saying that says "Live your life in a way that nobody would have to lie at your funeral" We can do that now that we are alive and still have the opportunity....Cheers.
