Endless Slumber

Endless Slumber

As she laid under the stars,
She watched as the red river flowed,
Slowly as it mixed with the clear skies.
It’ll be soon she said to herself as a smile married her face.

The coldness and heaviness in her heart,
Was replaced with a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Soon she fell in an endless slumber,
Where her fears and misfortunes,
No longer haunted her mind.

Where she finally felt safe from the abusers in her life.
Where she could finally rest.
The final peace that was rewarded to her,
After fighting a hard battle everyday.

Soon the images of paradise faded as she lay in a tub filled with water and her essence.
The stars slowly turned into dim lights as they flickered.
No one would notice that she was gone.
Or they simply might not care enough.
Either way she was finally at rest,
In an endless slumber.
