FOOLS GOLD

FOOLS GOLD

Smitten by smite
The devilish sprite
Prances beneath the leaves
This forest was her wonderland
Adorned with acorn trees.

But her cheshire grin
Beckoning sin
For greed brought her delight
Jewels of gold
She desired to hold and
All that sparkled bright

Later that night.....
The sprite took flight
Out beyond... alone
Leaving the forest...
Her wonderland...
No longer her home.

No time to waste
Eager to taste

The flashes of light,
Enticing her sight....
Drew her close to where..
The entranced sprite
Stared....Unaware
At the mesmerizing glare.

Recalling tales of legend
Envisioning all the rainbows
Never had she seen
A vast array of coloured glows

Comatose...
The sprite then senses
Something not quite right.
A din surrounding all the
Different forms of swirling light
Should this be there...?
She breaks her glare...
And scampers out of sight.

The imp then takes time to ponder...
"That's right!"
"The night.....did not bring light...!"
Anticipating all the wonder

Fables told
A pot of gold
Was waiting at the end
Overcome with greed
Wanting to succeed
A treasure the rainbows send

As she waits for the days
Sun shining rays
The sprite then recites....
From her pure incite...

Acknowledge the jewel
Before you become the fool
Look before you leap
Then enjoy all that you reap...
