Gift Me Your Wisdom

Gift Me Your Wisdom

Gift me your words of wisdomĀ
Blanch my anger
Dull my painĀ

Bleed out the bitternessĀ Ā
Which persistsĀ
To twistĀ
TransfixĀ
My mindĀ
On thoughts unkindĀ
The ones that make me feel to blame

Yes...teach me to understandĀ
The reason for all these deathsĀ
To fill each hole left in my chestĀ

I feel so vexedĀ
Iā€™m not my bestĀ
I donā€™t feel blessedĀ
But beatĀ
Ready to retreatĀ
Take a final leapĀ
Into the deepĀ
So I can bury this sad soul beneathĀ

Beneath the rageĀ
That formed a cageĀ
Clipped my wingsĀ
Singed from firesĀ
TranspiredĀ
Out of countless liarsĀ

Those who snuffed out the lightĀ
Welcomed in the nightĀ
Left me with open woundsĀ
Which entomb my heartĀ
with scars
Slashed by their shards
Which pierceĀ
With fierce dejection

This grief is like a mass infection!

Taunted by insane doubtĀ
Iā€™m drowning as my tears floodĀ  Ā
Each droplet stingsĀ
Boils my blood

Whispering wordsĀ
AbsurdĀ
They curseĀ
My positive mind slips in reverseĀ

The pain becomes as thick as mud
As those tearsĀ
For each of youĀ
Construe
What my fears already knew

Hits my heart in a downward thudĀ
That echoesĀ
I simply wasnā€™t enoughĀ

The fish of the sea

Wow Gwen, what a fantastic piece of poetry. It's a bit different from your usual writes but I really enjoyed it! Damn I really hope you aren't that close to the edge as what it seems... I really enjoyed the feeling of "look what you have made me become" real bitterness but also sense of power in this write. A sense of power... I think it's the biggest desire of them all. Power over other, whether we strive for wealth, fame or love, it all stems from power. Such a thought provoking write!

Hello Max,Ā
you always connect beautifully to my work. Expressing such clarity within my thoughts. Which is always a joy to read. May is a hard month for me. So better out than in as they say. Poetry is a great way to purge, in the hopes of feeling a little lighter for it. Thank you for your attentive feedback my lovely poetic friendĀ

We do wish to be enough. Even the saviour himself seems lacking,Ā  don't be so hard on yourself. Unless, of course, that makes you happy....

Oh Gwen this is just divine in all it's sad and pathos heart wrenching glory.
You are a true poet to write something as reflecting as this.
A true person with control over all emotions for you can write from one human extremity to its polar opposite and exorcise dormant feelings and ghosts.
And neverĀ  the same theme twice always searching for and breaking new poetry ground and finding gold.
I wish you well and all the good and great things that this life and poetry can bestow upon you and the loved ones around you.
You are a guiding light on this happy sight.
And stay sake my friend.šŸ’—

Jim "The Lad" ....

just to add to the wonderful poem and wonderful comments, a bit of wisdom, one story of a truck driver whom said he was so good he could drive in the mountains around the curves on the edge with one wheel hanging off! The other driver said he drove as far from the edge as possible. The second driver was hired......................................................Jim
