Haiku Series - Four

mr ghost moon
he smirks at my reflectionΒ
through a small windowΒ

sleeping winterΒ
spring dreams of summer
until fall awakensΒ

waters rise
and loud screamsΒ flood
the valley

dancing in the woods
every leaf falls, red for today,
empty tomorrowΒ

Not if no one is there to see it. The people dancing are symbolised through the red leaves, once they have all fallen. It means that everyone has left. So by the next day there are no leaves nor dancers just an empty tree.

The people dancing are symbolised through the red leaves...

Thanks. I didn't know this "hidden" meaning :)

Welcome, I like putting hidden symbolism in sometimes, to encourage people to think deeply and not just take things at face value.

I don't agree meaning is hidden. It takes perspective and intuition. I love the poems that deserve good analysis!

This is profound, even haunting. Very satisfying.Β

Thought that ghost moon would be a miss ;)

It never misses when I'm around ;)

Most poets would describe Moon as a female
Yet you think it's male
This is unusual

To me, ( before NASA ruined it), the face that you could see on the moon looked maleΒ

Love that you have a prepared answer for this, the nuance in brackets made me giggle.
