Have You Ever Felt The Moon Cry?

I have worn the night.
I've watched Selene
drive her chariot
across the edge of heaven
and seen Hemera's dying breath
breathe out the stars.
I have borne the cloak that Nyx
had placed across my heart
and lost myself in Hypnos' arms
as I danced with Thanatos,
for I have worn the night.
So, if I ask you anything
then I will ask you this;
have you ever seen the stars
and wondered why
that all you ever wished for
has only served to bite?
Have you ever felt the moon cry
whilst wearing well the night?

Ooooooo I can see why everyone likes this! Count me onto the bandwaggon. 😍 Superb write!!! (Sorry I take so long to get onto reading other people's poems). I mainly write mine as a form therapy. 🤭

That is such a lovely comment! Thank you so much for reading. There is such a lot of poetry on Cosmo that it would take probably forever to read it all and so I am honoured you read this poem. I am glad you like it and I do really appreciate the support. Thankyou again...so very much x
Well, inspiring someone to write a poem before they go to bed.
Well done Being! That's the most creative time of the day I find.
Loved this thought-provoking poem - and thank you for taking the time to read mine - so awe-inspiring to give and receive.
I'm off to read 'Forever', P's favourite.

Ji Owen! Thanks for popping by. I am so sorry for my late reply - such tardiness 🙈
I felt very honoured when Jill said that this poem had inspired her to write one. Her poem was fabulous too.
Thank you so very, very much ... both for reading and leaving a comment. I do greatly appreciate it. Enjoy your day or evening or whatever time it is where you are x
A captivating great write taking one and all to another place and that
place is good.
A magically and well woven poem that simply takes one on a journey.
With two closing lines that any poet would die for.
Simply enchanting and breath-taking.
Thank you Being Me ,stay safe and remain poetry blessed.
Hi Shaun...I am so sorry for my late reply, I have only just found your comment. I am very happy you like this poem and am extremely grateful for your amazingly generous comment. Thank you so very much for reading and taking the time to comment x
Hi Tina, this is such a eerie/haunting poem. There is a sombre feeling that reflects perfectly to any reader who has felt that depression and emptiness during those nocturnal hours. I love your passion for mythology. It shines brightly here with your beautiful imagery. Such a delight to read. Those last lines really clench it and bring the entire feel for the poem together perfectly 👌

Awww...thankyou Gwen, for trailing through my pages to find this poem AND to comment. I am glad you like it but sorry, obviously, that you "get" it. It was a poetic musing from a dark place. I think we have probably all found ourselves in a dark place from time to time; if only life was ALL champagne and roses. Thanks again my dear friend. Hugs 🤗❤ xx
I have, how could I not ................................... your words here are quite magical & if the truth be known, served to inspire my own recent little dedication to the night skies .................... x
