Home Cooking

When my memory wanders
As it's prone to do these days
Simple comforts work best for me...
My mam's spaghetti bolognese...
Liver and onion gravy....
My best memories are made of food
Home cooking has always saved me.
And my mother, bless her socks,Β
I hope she knows just what those mealtimes meant
The care and love that she put into them
Gave me more than she could have dreamt
You never realise when you're youngΒ
That it is the little things..
Home cooking is where it's at,
Makes my sad heart sing.

(for my mother.)
